Getting Home After a Night Out in Bangkok: BTS Hours, Grab, Bolt and Safety Tips

The night is over, the lights come on, and now you need to get back to your hotel. Getting home in Bangkok is easy if you know your options before you go out.
BTS and MRT hours
The BTS Skytrain runs roughly from 6am to midnight, and the MRT runs similar hours. The train is great for getting to the club, but not for getting home at 3am. Check the exact last train time for your station on the BTS or MRT app, it changes a little by line and station.
Grab and Bolt
Both apps work all night in Bangkok and are the easiest way home.
- Grab: the biggest app with the most drivers, often a bit pricier
- Bolt: often cheaper, sometimes a longer wait late at night
- Both show the price before you book, so no surprises
- Leaving Mustache? Set the pickup pin to “Mustache Bangkok” on Decho Road
Tip: right at closing time a lot of people book at once. Walking a minute or two to a quieter corner often gets you a car faster.
Metered taxis
Taxis are everywhere in Silom. Ask for the meter before you get in. If the driver wants a fixed price, wave the next one.
Motorbike taxis
Fast and cheap for short rides, you’ll see the drivers in orange vests near every BTS station. After a long night, a car is the safer choice.
Simple safety tips
- Stay with your friends and leave together
- Keep your phone charged and save your hotel as a map pin
- Keep your drink with you
- Share your ride in Grab or Bolt with a friend
- Drink some water before you leave the club
